I’ve made a list of my favourite artist books and podcasts for you!
Artist Book List:
I’ve read these books over and over again, sometimes referring to them like a bible when I need guidance in the studio or in moments of creative drought. Listening to them as audio books whilst walking or painting or when being creative isn’t an option, has been invaluable!
I think most of them are available on Audible if you want to listen instead or on Kindle Store of you’re a kindle person. Also, don’t forget to check your local library. If they don’t have the book you’re after, they might just order it in for you.
Remember you don’t have to be a painter or artist specifically to get something out of these books. Any art lover or creative mind will be inspired into action by these wonderful reads.

Podcast List:
I have learnt so so much from listening to these podcasts! Honeslty, they have kept me going! From just starting out, finding my style, maintaining motivation, business advice, what other artists do, having a laugh, keeping it real, how to ship your work, and of course keeping the creative flame alive over the last few years of pandemic chaos. They’ve covered it all!
I’ve listed them in no particular order but have started with the Australian podcasts, as that’s the most relevent to where I live. The UK and US podcasts often mention contemporary artists I’m not familiar with, but they’re still great! There’s so much info out there. My awareness of the international art world has expanded ten fold!
This is by no means a list of ALL the art podcasts out there, just what I’ve listened to most consistently since 2018. (And loved to bits!)
